Incident at CALGARY / SPRINGBANK AB (CYBW)

Summary

2003-04-23: UPDATE TSB reported that the Cessna 185F, registration C-GXVA, was landing on Runway 16 at Springbank in a 45 degree, 10 knot crosswind. Approximately 1,000 feet after touchdown, as the tail wheel was contacting the runway, the aircraft began to swerve left, into the wind. Heavy braking was applied to correct the swerve and the aircraft nosed down onto the propeller and cowling. There were no injuries. The spinner, propeller and engine cowling sustained damage.
2003-04-22: The pilot of C-GXVA, a Cessna 185, landed on Runway 16 at Springbank with a crosswind and during the roll-out, the aircraft began to veer to the left. The pilot applied heavy braking and the a/c nosed over onto its propeller. The three occupants were not injured and the a/c sustained damage to the prop, spinner and cowling. There was no structural damage.
