Incident at 50 NM SW of ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE AB (CYRM)

Summary

2003-04-09: ACA 046, a B767, was inbound to Edmonton on a flight from Honolulu and was descending from FL 350 to FL 310 when the crew reported severe turbulence south of Rocky Mountain House. The crew advised that there were injuries on board and requested that medical assistance meet the aircraft at the gate. ACA 046 landed on Runway 12 at YEG without further incident at 1055Z. TSB has been in contact with the company.
2003-04-11: UPDATE TSB reported that the Air Canada Boeing 767-233, registration C-GDSP, was operating as ACA 046 from Honolulu to Edmonton. While descending from FL 350 to FL 310 50 NM SW of the Rocky Mountain House VOR (YRM), ACA 046 encountered severe turbulence. The pilot advised ATC that there were injuries on board, and that medical assistance meet the flight upon arrival in Edmonton. EMS treated two passengers, one of whom was reportedly in the washroom at the time and maintenance conducted a turbulence check with no faults found.
