Incident at FLIN FLON MB (CYFO)

Summary

2003-03-31: SARSAT formed an ELT case in the vicinity of Flin Flon. RCC Trenton investigated and it was determined that a chartered Cessna 185, C-FWXV, on a medevac flight to Flin Flon had been forced to land on Golden Lake due to poor weather. The pilot activated the ELT and was able to contact the Sandy Bay RCMP detachment through a high flier. RCMP then made arrangements to recover the occupants with snowmobiles. The patient was a 10 month old baby with cardiac problems, who died during transit.
