Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)

Summary

2003-03-25: WJA 144, a B737-200, was on approach to Runway 28 at Calgary after a flight from Edmonton when the crew executed a missed approach due an unsafe gear indication. About 10 minutes later at 0420Z, they advised that the gear was extended normally and landed safely on Runway 34. No operational impact. TSB will call the company.
2003-03-27: UPDATE TSB reported that the crew initially observed a 'three green' indication for the gear after the gear was selected down, but that changed to 'three red'. After recycling the gear after the overshoot, the crew observed a continuous 'three green' and landed uneventfully. A maintenance examination after landing failed to duplicate the problem and after the landing gear system was serviced, the a/c was returned to the line.
