Incident at SASKATOON / JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER INTL SK (CYXE)
2003-03-10: ALZ 702, a Metro III, departed Saskatoon for Calgary and the crew reported that they were unable to retract the gear. The aircraft returned and landed safely at 0132Z. No other aircraft inconvenienced. The a/c was ferried back to base in Calgary with the gear down and maintenance is currently troubleshooting the matter.
2003-03-11: UPDATE The company reported that after departure from Saskatoon, the crew observed a continuous 'in transit' light after the gear was selected up. They returned to Saskatoon, where an AMO checked the gear system, lubricated the components and carried out successful gear swings. The a/c departed without problem and on approach at Calgary, the crew obesrved an unsafe nose gear indication. When they commenced an overshoot, the gear indication lights went 'three green'. After an uneventful landing, the hydraulic reservoir was found to be low. The system was topped up and the a/c released for service.
