Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC) (Electrical problem, Aerodrome - visual aids)

Summary

2003-03-10: WJA 643 was on short final for Runway 34 at Calgary when the crew reported no approach lights. The Tower lighting status indicator showed all lights had been selected. Following aircraft confirmed that the approach lights were not working. The lights were brought back by turning off all essential field lighting and re-selecting the approach lights. The approach lights returned at 2340z. The Airport Duty Manager and airport electrical maintenance were advised.
2003-03-27: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the Calgary Airport Authority electrical department responded to the reported failure of the approach lights to Runway 34 at 1628 local time. However, electricians were unable to locate the problem or duplicate the malfunction. There have been no further reported deficiencies
