Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)
2003-03-07: KFA 270, a cargo B727, was departing Winnipeg for Hamilton when the crew rejected the takeoff due to a 'load problem'. They taxied back to the apron where the matter was resolved and the a/c departed without incident at 0731Z. TSB will be contacting the company to determine the nature of the problem.
2003-03-10: UPDATE TSB reported that the crew of a Kelowna Flightcraft Boeing 727 rejected takeoff from Runway 31 in Winnipeg after control input was required to keep the nose down during the takeoff roll. It was determined that an incorrect fuel arm had been utilized for the weight and balance calculation and that the actual aircraft center of gravity was aft of that calculated. The flight crew had set the stabilizer trim based on the incorrect CG location (6 units nose up versus 4 units as required). The correct trim was set and the aircraft departed without further difficulties.
