Incident at EDMONTON CITY CENTRE / BLATCHFORD AB (CYXD)

Summary

2003-03-26: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the pilot who was flying the aircraft reported that the birds were black in color and came up from underneath the aircraft and struck the Citation in the nose gear area. The pilot experienced a yaw-like movement on the rudders while on a one mile final to Runway 34. A post-arrival inspection did not reveal any damage to the aircraft, nor any evidence to identify the type of bird involved. Pigeons are the suspected culprits in this event.
2003-03-07: C-FKMC, a Cessna Citation, was on final approach at City Centre Airport when the a/c struck a bird. The flight landed without incident and the airport duty manager was advised.
