Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)

Summary

2003-03-06: Air Canada ACA 851, a Boeing 747-400 was in cruise when the flight crew observed a strong electrical burning smell in the flight deck. The source was isolated to the right utility bus and the flight continued to Calgary with the right utility bus unpowered. Maintenance loaded the right and left buses for 45 minutes and observed no smell. The BMC's (Bleed Air Monitoring Computer) were tested with no faults found and the aircraft was returned to service.
