Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)

Summary

2003-03-05: The Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FMEQ, was operating as flight ACA 6056 from Edmonton, AB to Toronto, ON. During the #2 engine start after de-icing, the flight crew received an aft cargo smoke warning with ECAM indications. The engine start was aborted and the smoke warning disappeared. 'Cargo Vent' and 'Cargo Heat' were showing inoperative on the ECAM status page. Maintenance checked the cargo area and no signs of heat or smoke were observed. The system was re-set and the flight departed.
