Incident at GRANDE PRAIRIE AB (CYQU)

Summary

2003-03-05: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that the nose gear Down Lock Actuator RH Flex line was found to be cracked. Due to hydraulic line replacement, gear swings were not able to be performed in Grande Prairie, so the aircraft was inspected IAW instructions from Maintenance Control and a ferry flight to Calgary was authorized. The nose gear Down Lock Actuator Down Hydraulic Line was replaced, a leak check and gear swing were performed. The a/c ground checked as serviceable. An SDR will be filed.
2003-02-07: The crew of JZA 8311, a DHC-8, reported hydraulic problems shortly after departure from Grande Prairie and requested to remain VFR and then elected to return. The flight landed at 2225Z without incident. TSB will contact the company.
