Incident at CALGARY INTL AB (CYYC)

Summary

2003-02-06: On final approach to Calgary, the pilot of C-FVAX, a Cessna 425, advised he had an unlocked gear indication. He did a flyby of the Tower and the gear appeared to be extended normally so the pilot returned and landed safely on Runway 28. CFR was called out and after landing the runway was inspected and no debris was found. Normal operations resumed at 2004Z.
2003-02-07: UPDATE The company advised that the a/c had been washed that morning and it is suspected that some moisture froze in the nosegear down microswitch, causing the unsafe indication. The a/c was put on jacks and the gear swung several times successfully.
