Summary

2003-02-03: At 1755Z, when CAV 7522 was 100 NM north of Winnipeg on a flight to Thompson, the crew advised the Winnipeg ACC that the right engine had been shut down due to a mechnical problem. The pilot advised that they had 25 people on board and 1800 lbs of fuel and emergency equipment was requested. CAV 7522 landed without further incident on Runway 18 at 1821Z. No other aircraft were inconvenienced. Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that an apprentice AME had left the oil filler cap off after servicing. The company has taken the appropriate action for the persons involved.
