Incident at PRINCE ALBERT (GLASS FIELD) SK (CYPA) (Aerodrome - visual aids, Aerodrome - power failure)

Summary

2003-04-08: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the engineering and electrical departments at Prince Albert have been unable to locate the problem or duplicate this event. At the time, Prince Albert was under the influence of a high pressure area which helped contribute to extremely cold temperatures and may have played a part in the power interruption at the airport.
2003-02-24: Aerodrome Safety advised that the controls are outdated and need to be replaced.
2003-01-30: At 1341Z, power was interrupted to the Prince Albert FSS, as well as apron lighting, taxiway and runway lighting. The backup diesel unit did not start. Other commercial power on the airport appeared normal. The power outage lasted about 45-60 seconds. FSS was left with emergency battery lighting and a NICAN transceiver. One a/c which was taxiing for departure was affected.
