Incident at GRANDE PRAIRIE AB (CYQU) (Aerodrome - runway or taxiway surface condition)

Summary

2003-01-30: The Beech King Air 200, registration C-GNAM, was on a medevac flight from Peace River to Grande Prairie, Alberta. After landing, the aircraft cleared the runway on Taxiway Bravo and turned left onto Taxiway Alpha. As the aircraft was proceeding along Alpha it contacted a 4 foot high snow windrow. Both engines continued to operate, and the flight crew applied reverse to back off the windrow. After shut down it was determined that the left propeller had sustained substantial damage. There were no injuries. Snow removal was in progress at the time of the occurrence, and visibility was very poor due to falling snow and associated whiteout conditions.
