Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)
2003-01-16: UPDATE TSB reported that PAG 203 was departing Winnipeg en route to God's Narrows, MB. Shortly after takeoff, the crew noted the smell of smoke in the cabin. The flight was diverted back to Winnipeg where it landed without further incident, with ERS standing by. The aircraft was examined and no faults or indications of fire were found.
2003-01-10: PAG 203, a Metro II departed Winnipeg and when the flight was approximately 5 NM north of the airport the crew advised the Tower they would be returning with an unknown mechanical problem. AFF was activated. When the aircraft was on short final the crew advised the problem was resolved and they landed safely at 1525Z. No other aircraft were inconvenienced. TSB to update.
