Incident at HIGH LEVEL AB (CYOJ)

Summary

2003-01-08: While enroute from Anchorage to Chicago, NCA116 a Boeing 747 (Nippon Cargo Airlines) experienced an alternator failure at 20:50Z resulting in the loss of their RVSM (Required Vertical Separation Minimum)certification while in RVSM airspace. After notification to Edmonton ACC, the flight was provided with increased separation and allowed to continue to their destination. They exited RVSM airspace 120 miles East of Fort McMurray on NCA20 at 21:47Z. There was no impact to other users.
