Incident at DEER LAKE NL (CYDF) (Incursion - runway - vehicle)

Summary

2003-12-16: Update - Aerodrome Safety - The vehicle driver did not follow proper communications procedures as per the Airside Vehicle Operator's permit manual. The driver was counselled on the proper procedures.
2003-12-08: Airport Security was asked by the FSS to conduct a runway inspection. The FSS observed the security vehicle proceed onto the taxiway and then the FSS told the vehicle they required permission to proceed to the runway. The security vehicle then stopped to ask permission but at this time the vehicle was past the hold line and was on the runway. There was no traffic associated with this incursion.
