Incident at DEER LAKE NL (CYDF) (FOD (foreign object debris))

Summary

2003-12-04: An aircraft advised Deer Lake FSS of a small piece of metal on the runway. The Airport maintenance was then advised and the piece was brought to the FSS at 1633Z. Gander ACC was then advised and notified FGMG (a PA34-200 enroute Saint John). The Piece was then taken to Newfoundland and Labrador Air Transport for identification. They identified it as possible small exhaust pipe and probably off of a PA34. Info passed to all agencies, which had been in Deer Lake and requested to check their aircraft. All reported negative. FGMG also called from Saint John to confirm part did not belong to that aircraft.
