Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

Summary

2003-12-03: At 1750Z, TRLS01 a P3 advised the Halifax TCU of an unsafe nose gear indication. The aircraft did a low pass at 1755Z by the Tower and the Tower observed what appeared to be a normal nose gear configuration. The aircraft proceeded South East of the airport to troubleshoot and did another low pass at 1807Z. The Tower did not observe anything unusual. The aircraft then proceeded to burn fuel for another 15 minutes North of the field. The aircraft, then, landed safely at 1825Z with AFF standing by. After landing the aircrew indicated gear now showing normal and taxied to the hangar without assistance. Runway 15-33 was closed by HIAA for 5 minutes for inspection. There were no delays to other aircraft.
