Incident at GREATER MONCTON ROMEO LEBLANC INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Aerodrome - other)

Summary

2003-12-03: Supplemental information provided by Air Georgian Limited (2003/12/03): The departure was not from Intersection Echo, rather, the full runway length was used. A rejected take-off did not occur. The flight crew applied partial power to move the aircraft forward slightly and scare off the birds. Once the runway was clear, the aircraft departed.
2003-11-28: A beech 1900 GGN7468 which was departing Moncton for Halifax aborted take-off from Runway 24, after a short take-off roll, due to seagulls on the runway. The gulls moved off on their own and GGN7468 then departed at 1324Z.
2003-12-01: Update - ANS and Airspace - The flight had elected to perform an intersection departure on Rwy 24, starting at Taxiway 'E' (Approx 3500 ft avail) and had been advised of seagulls flying around the airport. There was bird dispersal activity on Runway 11/29. There was a second flock of gulls on the button of 06, unseen from the Tower. These birds took flight as the aircraft started it's take-off roll, resulting in the abort.
