Incident at GREATER MONCTON ROMEO LEBLANC INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2003-11-20: A PA44 in Moncton was unable to retract gear after departure from Runway 24. The aircraft did fly by but Tower Controller was unable to ascertain whether the gear was fully down due to darkness. AFF was called out for the landing. The aircraft landed safely at 2311Z.
2003-11-21: Maintenance and Manufacturing - 2003/11/21 - Failure of gear to retract was traced to a defective squat micro-switch. The defective switch was replaced and the gear swung satisfactorily. Aircraft has now been returned to service.
