Incident at 57N 40W

Summary

2003-11-20: CSA050 a Czech Airlines A310 en route from Prague Airport to JF Kennedy Airport reported 57N 30W at 1604Z FL340 57N 40W at 1648Z. At 1631Z the aircraft requested to offset and descend to FL280 and to divert to Reykjavik (BIKF). At 1640Z the aircraft advised this was due to a possible Bomb on board. At 1641Z they were cleared 61N 30W DROMI BIKF at FL280. ETA for 61N 30W was 1713Z. At 1713Z VHF contact was established with Reykjavik. TSB - Case Closed
2003-11-20: TSB Update - A03A0124: The Airbus A310 aircraft was en route from Prague to New York at FL340 with a routing in part of 57N 30W at 1604 UTC, estimating 57N 40W at 1648 UTC. At 1631UTC, the crew requested to offset and descend to FL280 and divert to Keflavik due to a bomb onboard. QX ACC cleared the aircraft direct present position, 61N 30W, DROMI, Keflavik. At 1713 UTC the aircraft established VHF radio contact with Reykjavik and landed Keflavik at 1756 UTC without further incident.
