Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

Summary

2003-11-17: ACA634 an Airbus A320 from Montreal to Halifax was on descent out of 12,000 when the pilot advised ATC that an unbuckled passenger had been injured due to turbulence. It was suspected the passenger had a possible broken ankle. An ambulance was called. The aircraft landed safely at 0222Z. TSB - Case Closed
2003-11-18: TSB - A03A0123: The Airbus A320 aircraft was on a flight from Montreal to Halifax and shortly after top of descent, the flight encountered sudden, unreported moderate turbulence. The seat belt sign was immediately selected on. The turbulence then became light and at no time thereafter was it more than light as felt from the flight deck. One of the aft cabin flight attendants reported that a female passenger had fallen on the first jolt of turbulence as she was exiting a lavatory with her infant in arms and apparently suffered a broken ankle. Medlink was contacted and an ambulance was requested.
