Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2003-11-07: JZA8876 a Dash8-300 en-route from Montreal to Fredericton struck a bird on final approach to Runway 09 in Fredericton. The aircraft was inspected upon arrival at the gate, no damage was found, but evidence of blood and feathers was discovered on the left side of the Radome and the left main gear door beneath the engine intake bypass door, as well as a few places on the main gear struts. Maintenance was contacted, logbook part II entry completed, dispatch was advised and bird strike report was filed with Transport Canada upon arrival in Bathurst. Maintenance inspected the aircraft and no damage was found.
