Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Alleged Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) infraction)
2003-11-04: TSB Update - A03A0120: C-GCRG, a corporate Cessna 550 on a flight from Moncton to Fredericton was on the ILS approach for Runway 15 at Fredericton. JZA8875, an Air Canada Regional DeHavilland DHC8 was cleared for take off on Runway 15 at Fredericton on the Fredericton Six SID. For a westbound flight, this departure procedure requires a right turn to heading 270 as soon as possible after departure. After take off, the Fredericton FSS specialist observed the aircraft turning left, informed the flight crew of this and asked them to call Moncton ACC. The flight crew of JZA8875 continued turning left to the required SID heading of 270 and was radar identified by Moncton ACC at approximately 9 miles from C-GCRG. By turning left onto the SID departure heading, the aircraft turned through the inbound track and required separation was compromised.
