Summary

2003-08-28: CTG303 a Bell212 operated by the Canadian Coast Guard was on a VFR flight from St. Anthony to Mary's Harbour NF. While enroute, the pilot air-filed a flight plan at 1438Z. The Sydney FSS sent the Halifax FIC an arrival message for this flight at 1933Z, and the Flight Plan was closed at 1935Z based on that arrival message. The pilot of CTG303 then called the Halifax FIC by phone at 2355Z to close his flight plan. Alerting service for this helicopter was not provided from 1935Z to 2355Z.
