Incident at 4933N 4029W


2003-06-16: A Boeing 777 AAL98 en route from Chicago to Heathrow at position 4933N 4029W declared an emergency due to an electrical problem. The Crew carried out contingency plans for a turn back and then requested and was cleared direct to Gander. The aircraft requested fire-fighting equipment on arrival. The Aircraft landed in Gander 0941Z.
2003-06-17: Update Gander Airport - 2003-06-17 - A preliminary check of the aircraft lead on-site aircraft maintenance crew to suspect that the smell of smoke was from an overheated coffee pot.
