Incident at CHARLOTTETOWN AIRPORT

Summary

2003-06-16: A Cessna Citation 550 (CFALI) reported a TCAS warning of traffic 8 miles on the nose 1000 feet below at 1401Z. The Charlottetown FSS advised the only observed traffic was a VFR target 10 miles SE of Charlottetown. CFALI reported he had the VFR target on TCAS in addition to a 2nd target. The Charlottetown FSS then advised CFALI that a warship was in the Charlottetown Harbor. The Citation then reported a TCAS alert and had the warship (HMCS Montreal) in sight. Pilot believed that the warship was the source of the 2nd TCAS target and alert. The Citation aircraft landed on Runway 21 at 1407Z.
