Incident at TRENTON NS (CYTN)

Summary

2003-06-16: A Cessna 172 C-FCNB filed a round-robin VFR flight plan from Trenton to Trenton with 6 hours en-route. Pilot activated the flight plan via radio communication with Halifax FIC at 1050Z. The Halifax FIC began a comm. search for the aircraft at 1722Z. Pilot did not communicate with Halifax FIC until 1825Z while he was en route to Waterville with a revised destination and ETA. During the communication search, an airport attendant at Trenton erroneously reported the arrival for this aircraft. Alerting service was stopped from 1722Z (the time of the erroneous arrival report) to 1825, when the pilot checked in. As a result there was no alerting service for this VFR aircraft.
