Incident at DEER LAKE NL (CYDF)

Summary

2003-06-18: TSB Update - 2003-06-12 - A03A0062: The Beech 200 aircraft, C-GMWR, was on final approach for runway 25 in Deer Lake when the cabin door caution light illuminated. The crew declared an emergency and continued the approach; the aircraft landed without further incident. Maintenance determined that the micro switch that activates the light was slightly out of adjustment.
2003-06-12: SPR02 BE 200 FROM ST-JOHNS TO DEERLAKE DECLARED EMERGENCY WHILE ON FINAL RUNWAY 25. INDICATOR SHOWED REAR CABIN DOOR NOT SECURED AND DANGEROUS CARGO IN THE FORM OF A TANK OF COMPRESSED AIR WAS LOCATED NEAR THE DOOR. EMERGENCY SERVICES ADVISED. AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY AT 1704Z. NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. A FAULTY MICRO SWITCH WAS FOUND TO BE THE PROBLEM. TSB CASE CLOSED
