2003-10-15: General Aviation Update: Although no flight training deficiencies were identified, the flight training unit will place more emphasis on the importance of monitoring the electrical system gauges in flight. They have added a check of the ammeter gauges to their cruise checklist and circulated a memo to all pilots regarding the importance of in-flight monitoring of electrical system gauges.
2003-06-06: A Piper PA30, which was operating NORDO in the Halifax area, contacted the Halifax Tower by Cell Phone to advise that they had a total electrical power failure. No assistance was required. The landing gear was lowered manually; the aircraft did a circuit and landed safely on Runway 06 at 1543Z. The aircraft then taxied via 'C' and 'A' to the IMP apron NORDO. Another aircraft VAL791 was inbound to Runway 06 and moved to Runway 15 to accommodate the NORDO aircraft.
