Incident at GOOSE BAY NL (CYYR)

Summary

2003-06-02: An Air Transat A310 (TSC260) at FL350 on NAT ""V"" routing from Mirabel to Frankfurt in vicinity of 49N 050W advised it was requesting to return to Gander due to an ETOPS restriction. The aircraft descended to FL340 and was then issued a turn back clearance. No emergency was declared. No assistance was required. Once the aircraft was under radar coverage it then diverted to Goose Bay because the Gander weather was down.
