Accident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT) (Aerodrome - other)

Summary

2003-04-17: While parked on the general aviation apron A Royal New Zealand Air Force B757 was struck by a ground vehicle. The Vehicle lost control on the slippery surface of the Apron area and slid into the aircraft. The aircraft was damaged in the nose-cone area. Initially Nav Canada was told by the crew of the aircraft that they had a 'Catastrophic Problem' and that their flt plan had to be cancelled. The Tower believed it was an aircraft mechanical problem. The incident was not reported to Nav Canada till the 16th of April.
