2003-04-25: TSB - Update - 2003/04/23 - A03A0039: The US Air Boeing 767-200, call sign USA192 was approximately 60 NM south of Gander when the crew requested and received a clearance to divert to Gander due to a heat problem indication in the bulk cargo compartment. No emergency was declared and no assistance was required; the aircraft landed safely at 0129 UTC. The crew informed maintenance that they had noticed a fire bottle discharge warning for cargo area 2 but no indication of fire. Maintenance found that the fire bottle was still fully charged and that the problem was likely related to a faulty pressure switch resulting in a false discharged indication for that fire bottle. The cargo hold was inspected and the aircraft was released under provisions of the minimum equipment list and continue to destination.
