Incident at CHARLOTTETOWN AIRPORT (Incursion - runway - pedestrian)

Summary

2003-03-07: The Charlottetown Airport Field Maintenance Supervisor was conducting a runway condition inspection when he observed an Unidentified individual walking across Runway 10/28 about 100 feet from the intersection of Runway 03/21. The Field Supervisor picked up the individual and asked where he was going. He said he had locked his keys in his car, which was parked adjacent to the airport. He decided to cross the airport because it was a shortcut to his residence. Police were called and interviewed the individual. He had climbed over the fence. it was snowing at the time and there was no air traffic at the time. The police have advised that they confirmed the individual's story. The police gave him a stern lecture on the seriousness of his actions. There will be no charges laid
