Summary

2003-03-03: While on the approach to Runway 34 in St. John's, a military C130 declared an emergency. The left landing gear would not lower. The aircraft entered a holding pattern while the crew successfully lowered the gear by alternate means. The aircraft then cancelled the emergency and landed on Runway 34 at 0337Z without further incident
