Incident at ST. ANTHONY AIRPORT (Communication navigation surveillance/air traffic system)

Summary

2003-02-13: The B767 was enroute Milan to Toronto FL340 and when in the vicinity of St. Anthony climbed to FL360 without ATC Clearance. The flight may have responed to a frequency change intended for another company aircraft. This left the flight out of range of Moncton ACC and a misunderstood relayed communications to the flight from another aircraft may have resulted in the climb. TSB Case Closed.
