Incident at GOOSE BAY NL (CYYR)


2003-03-05: Update Maintenance and Manufacturing - The pilot/owner, reported no emergency was declared. He said he carried out a precautionary landing as he heard the front wheel vibrating after weight was taken off it, during take-off. The pilot went on to say that prior to take-off, he had towed the aircraft with the use of a tow bar; this required the removal of the safety pin nut and bolt. The bolt was still there, but almost all the way out. He feels he must not have had the safety pin locked following the reinstallation. The bolt was pushed in and he taxied to Lab Air where he obtained a new nut and safety pin.
2003-02-12: TSB A03A0017. Update February 11, 2003. It was discovered that the bolt connecting the nose wheel fork was only partially inserted in the bolt hole.
2003-02-10: The PA31, after Take-Off, advised that they had a problem during the Take-Off Roll and request return to Goose Bay. Flight Declared an Emergency and returned safely to Goose Bay. Pilot Shutdown on the runway and advised the the Nut and Cotter Pin for the Nose Wheel was missing. Aircraft returned to hangar. TSB Case Closed. More to Follow.
