Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT) (ATS operating irregularity)

Summary

2003-01-23: A Cessna Citation was taxiing for departure from Runway 29. The Citation was cleared by ground to taxi from the Shell Aero centre (Hangar#4) to hold short of Runway 29 in Taxiway 'B'. During the taxi towards taxiway B the Cessna encountered a parked fire truck in the taxilane of the Apron. The fire truck was parked in front of A C130 that was starting up. The Citation then stopped and contacted the ground frequency to explain that there was a fire truck blocking their path. The Ground Controller acknowledged the crews comments. The taxi was continued towards Bravo taxiway with the aid of a ground marshaller who was working the C130 aircraft.
