Incident at GOOSE BAY NL (CYYR) (Incursion - runway - vehicle)

2003-02-07: TSB - Update - A03A0011: The Labrador Airways B1900D was on final approach at Goose Bay when the tower had to issue go-around instructions because a vehicle had entered the runway without clearance. The aircraft carried out the go-around and returned for an uneventful landing. The vehicle operator apparently thought that he was at a different location on the airport when he had received permission to proceed by the tower. Canadian Forces Flight Safety at Goose Bay has investigated and follow-up corrective action is underway.
2003-01-20: A Beech 1900 enroute from St. Anthony to Goose Bay was conducting an approach to Runway 26 in Goose Bay. The Tower had to issue go around instructions because a vehicle had entered the active runway without permission. The B1900 cancelled IFR during the go around and subsequently landed.
