Accident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT) (Aerodrome - runway or taxiway surface condition, Aerodrome - other)
2003-01-13: The BE1900 While taxiing on runway 02 for a departure off runway 29, aircraft taxied through a windrow at the intersection of runway 02 and runway 16, striking and damaging propellers. A broken propeller struck and damaged the right fuselage. Aircraft was shutdown and passengers were disembarked onto runway 02. Tower alerted AFF. No reported life threatening injuries. 2003-01-14: TSB Update January 13, 2003. A03A0002: The Beech 1900D aircraft was taxiing on runway 02 for departure off runway 29 at the St. John's Newfoundland Airport and taxied through a windrow at the intersection of runway 02 and runway 16, striking and damaging both propellers. All four blades on the right propeller separated from the propeller hub, some of which struck the right side of the fuselage causing rips and tears in the fuselage and drove the forward window on right side into the cabin. One blade separated from the hub on the left propellor.
