Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)
2003-02-06: Update - Maintenance and Manufacturing - The In-transit light stayed on when the gear was retracted. It was Cycled down & the result was no green lite on RH side. Cycled several times with same results. The aircraft returned to airport & the tower confirmed gear down. The Green light came on at touchdown. Maintenance could not repeat problem in subsequent gear cycle checks. Suspected moisture in RH gear switch. Switch replaced and aircraft returned to service.
2003-01-06: A PA31 departed Halifax and in the climb reported that they had a gear indication problem. The aircraft requested Airport Firefighters on standby and returned and landed on Runway 24 at 1142Z. On the runway the Aircraft shut down and inspected the landing gear prior to Taxi. After a check of the Gear, the crew reported all was OK and taxied off the runway. The runway was closed for about five minutes. There was minimal impact on operations.
