Incident at PRINCE ALBERT (GLASS FIELD) SK (CYPA)
2001-10-22: UPDATE TSB reported that the Southern Aviation SA226-T, a Merlin III, was on approach to Prince Albert when the pilot was unable to get a safe nose gear down indication. The pilot elected to overshoot Prince Albert and proceed to Saskatoon. The pilot conducted an emergency gear extension, but was still unable to get a safe indication. The aircraft landed safely and the aircraft was towed from the runway. Maintenance personnel found a broken wire on the nose gear squat switch.
2001-10-18: C-GPRO, a Merlin III, was inbound to Prince Albert when the pilot advised he was having problems with the nose gear. The pilot elected to overshoot Prince Albert at 0029Z and proceed to Saskatoon. C-GPRO landed on Runway 27 at 0100Z. The runway was unavailable for use until C-GPRO was towed clear at 0130Z.
