Incident at RANKIN INLET NU (CYRT)

Summary

2001-10-15: SGK750 was enroute from Chesterfield Inlet to Rankin Inlet when they reported a flat tire after landing on Runway 31 at Rankin Inlet at 01:19Z. The aircraft was unable to taxi off the runway. The aircraft was estimated to be approximately 2400 feet from the threshold of Runway 31 and was towed off the runway at 02:38Z. Airport personnel reported no debris on the runway. After landing the pilot stated that the problems was right main gear damage.
2001-10-18: UPDATE M. & M. was advised by Skyward maintenance that mechanical failure of the torque links on the right hand main landing gear occurred. A technician was dispatched to Rankin Inlet and the torque links were replaced. An SDR is being submitted.
