Incident at LA RONGE (BARBER FIELD) SK (CYVC)
2001-10-16: UPDATE TSB reported that WestWind 300, a Jetstream 31 was enroute from Collins Bay to Prince Albert, Sk when in cruise flight at 13,000 feet the left engine spooled down. The crew secured the engine and diverted to La Ronge where an uneventful single engine landing was made with CFR standing by. Maintenance personnel inspected the engine and found metal contamination in the oil screens. The Garrett TPE331-10-UGR-516H engine is in the process of being replaced and will be sent for teardown and analysis.
2001-10-12: The crew of WEW 300, a BAe Jetstream 31 enroute from Collins Bay to Prince Albert, declared an emergency due to a left engine failure. La Ronge FSS was advised by Regina FSS of the situation at 1929Z. Emergency Response units were advised and on standby as WEW 300 landed safely at La Ronge on Runway 18 at 2012Z. TSB will be contacting the company.
