Incident at SASKATOON / JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER INTL SK (CYXE)

Summary

2001-09-28: UPDATE Maintenance and Manufacturing reported that Saskatoon Aircraft Rebuilders inspected the fuel system subsequent to this incident and believes the problem was due to vapour lock. The day was 30 + degrees C and the owner uses Mo-gas under an STC. Apparently this same problem had occured last summer on a day that was 30 degrees or more. The owner has decided to use a 50/50 Av-gas & Mo-gas to prevent further recurrences.
2001-09-26: The pilot of C-GNVW, a Piper Cherokee, rejected his takeoff at Saskatoon early in the roll. A drop in fuel pressure occurred, possibly from a vapour lock. The aircraft taxied off the runway with no affect on operations.
