Incident at INUVIK / MIKE ZUBKO NT (CYEV)

Summary

2001-09-24: The pilot of C-FBRN, a Piper Navajo, reported inbound to Inuvik from Old Crow with one engine inoperative. The pilot did not declare an emergency but did request an emergency vehicle meet him. The aircraft landed safely at 2207Z and normal airport operations resumed. Initial information suggests that the cause of the engine shut down was due to a faulty mag.
2001-09-25: UPDATE TSB reported that the Piper PA-31 was en route from Old Crow to Inuvik, VFR at 8,500 feet when the left engine (Lycoming TIO540A2B, SN RL230461) suddenly stopped. The pilot continued to destination on one engine and landed uneventfully at Inuvik at 1607 MDT with AFF standing by. Maintenance has indicated that a magneto on the engine had seized.
