Incident at RANKIN INLET NU (CYRT)

Summary

2001-09-04: UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the airport operator has advised us that the bird, which was believed to have been a sparrow, struck the B737 just below the co-pilot's windshield. An inspection of the aircraft determined that no damage had resulted from the strike. The airport has a Wildlife Control Program which has been particularly effective in keeping migratory birds off of the property. Although the strike did occur over airport property this type of bird is not normally in the area and so would not warrant a change to the program
2001-08-30: On final for Runway 13T at Rankin Inlet, FAB 951, a B737, struck a small bird. The aircraft landed safely and there was no report of any damage to the aircraft.
