Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

2001-08-28: WJA 109, a Boeing 737-200, was on approach for Runway 31 at Winnipeg when the crew reported that they were unable to extend flaps. The aircraft held south of the airport for approximately 10 minutes in order to sort out the problem. The crew was then able to select 15 degrees of flap through an alternate flap operation. The crew requested emergency standby and the aircraft then landed safely. The operator later advised that the aircraft was being examined by maintenance and that they will advise TSB of their findings.
